Terms and Conditions for VR API

The following terms and conditions apply to the VR API interface (later Interface) and to VR API Developer Portal (later Portal). The Interface consists of interfaces for both anonymous and on-behalf ticket purchasing.

Access rights to Interface and Portal

When VR and Company have agreed that the Company has a right to sell VR tickets using the Interface, VR grants the Company a continuous, royalty-free, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the Interface and Portal for the purposes detailed here as follows:

VR API Developer Portal (Portal)

To utilize the documentation and instructions on the site
To perform the self-service functions (such as requesting access to the interfaces and managing application keys)
Perform searches to the data on the site using the search function provided
Utilize the data on the site in the services that the Company provides, including filtering and combining data

VR API Interfaces (Interface)

To utilize the functionality provided by the Interface according to the documentation on the Portal
To utilize the data provided by the interfaces according to the applicable rules and restrictions
To utilize the functionality of the Interface in the services provided to the Company, including providing the functionality alongside with the services provided by the Company

Using the Interface

The Company must follow the at each time currently applicable technical instructions and restrictions for the use of the Interface. VR provides the Company with the access keys to the Interface. The access keys are eligible solely for the purpose described in the collaboration agreement between the parties. Whenever the Company provides services to end users utilizing the Interface, the Company must present the required terms and conditions to the services and the content of the services as defined in the Interface or in the separate instructions. When the Company offers a service that is based on the Interface to end-users via a web browser, the Company will provide a means to install the cookies required by VR on the web site, however respecting the data protection regulations related to cookie usage.

On-behalf purchasing services

The Company may not use the Interface for on-behalf purchasing unless the end user has given an authorization to the Company to purchase services or products of VR. VR provides an authorization service, through which the end users can log in to VR services and to give the authorization. The Company must provide a means for the end user to access VR’s authorization service. The authorization is stored solely in VR’s back-end systems. Each authorization is valid only for one specified application. The authorization has a fixed duration as specified on the Portal. VR has the right to change the authorization periods at will. When the authorization period is exceeded, the end user must give a new authorization. The Company must provide a means for the end user to terminate the authorization with immediate effect. In this case, the Company requests termination of the authorization from VR API Support.

Purchasing tickets via the Interface

The Company may purchase tickets using the Interface only for genuine persons wanting to travel by train, on their request. The Company may sell each end user or a traveller group only one VR ticket per journey per traveler. The Company may in no circumstances make a duplicate of the ticket provided by VR. Only the original ticket provided by VR is eligible for travel. The Company must inform the end user about all the necessary documents that the end user may need in order to prove their travel right or their discount group at time of the ticket inspection (e.g. a student ID). The discount groups are defined in the public web pages of VR. The Company must ensure that it provides a breakdown of the travel costs that clearly displays the price of the travel right without additional services. This is required for those cases when the end user is requesting reimbursements that are tied to the price of the ticket.

Changing the tickets

A ticket purchased via the Interface can be changed by the Company and by the end user using the interfaces and customer service provided by VR. VR is not responsible for any disturbances in the travel package sold by the Company in case the end user changes the tickets provided by VR.

The Company may change the tickets using the Interface according to the change rules of each VR ticket type.

Cancellation insurance

If the Company offers the additional cancellation insurance service by VR to their end users, the Company is responsible for reimbursing the end user for the ticket price in case of cancellation. In this case, VR is responsible for reimbursing the ticket price only to the Company.

Data protection

VR is committed to handle personal information only according to the laws and regulations as described in the privacy policy of VR.

The Company is responsible for the privacy policy of its own customer register. Any requests regarding the data protection of VR information, the end user must be directly in contact with VR.

Responsibilities of the parties

The Company is responsible for any direct damage to VR, that is caused by using the Interface in breach of this contract, or against the technical specifications and restrictions provided by VR. All purchase requests to the Interface by the Company are regarded as being made by the Company, and the Company is responsible for all purchases for tickets and services made by their system via the Interface. The purchase is considered to be final, when the Company has submitted a purchase request and VR has returned a purchase confirmation in the transaction interface back to the Company’s system. The Company is expected with all possible means prohibit misuse of the tickets of VR.

Indemnification

The content of the Portal may change at any time. The Portal may include links to third party sites. VR is not responsible for any third party content.

Intellectual property rights

VR is the sole owner of the intellectual property rights of the Portal. Copying, transferring, distributing and storing the contents of the Portal in any format without a consent from VR is prohibited. The Company may not modify the content without a written consent from VR. The Company may not modify, copy, or in other way use the tickets provided by VR in any way that could hinder the use the of the ticket or violate the conditions set by VR.

Changes and update

VR has the right to modify the Portal or terminate the access to the Portal at any time. Changes to the terms and conditions are published in this URL address three (3) months before they are applied.

Terms and Conditions for VR Transport API

The following terms and conditions apply to the VR API interface (later Interface) and to VR API Developer Portal (later Portal). The Interface consists of Logistics360 track and trace interfaces.

Access rights to Interface and Portal

When VR and Company has agreed that company has right to use logistics interface, VR grants the Company a continuous, royalty-free, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the Interface and Portal for the purposes detailed here as follows below.

Using the Interface

Data protection
